Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Voices for Life works to support the wellbeing of primary school age children through music. We are committed to creating an equal, diverse and inclusive culture within the organisation, both with our trustees and workers and the children that take part.

Our aim

We aim to build strong relationships in underserved communities giving opportunity for feedback from children, teachers and the community.

Time in workshops for feedback and to celebrate achievements ensures children from diverse communities engage in co-designing and become role models for others.

Our actions and diversity statistics

Our vision is to create a workforce that reflects the children we work with.

  • Our trustee board is 66% women and LGBTQ representation is present amongst our creative practitioners.
  • Our executive and advisory board represent deprived areas of Twerton and Southdown and Radstock (most deprived 10% nationally).
  • Our Stardust Training Programme will enable recruitment and training of regional workshop leads in local communities, nurturing talent from different backgrounds and representing the children we work with.

Overall, we acknowledge that there is always more to be done to promote and maintain equality, diversity and inclusion. We strive to keep inclusivity at the forefront of every project and recruitment.
