Mission to the Moon: A Song Cycle

A creative song cycle taking children on a space mission to be the first children to sing on the moon.  This programme can delivered in school or through an extra-curricular music and wellbeing club.

Mission to the Moon is a cycle of 4 songs by Jools Scott and Sue Curtis.

The children become astronauts on an imaginary space mission to be the first children to sing on the moon.  The Voices for Life Mission to the Moon song cycle will take them on an exciting adventure through interactive music and confidence and wellbeing workshops.

This is a specialised singing and confidence coaching programme for primary schools specifically designed to enhance primary school PSHE Education through the power of music and singing.  The aim of the programme is to help provide primary school children with the skills to cope with all aspects of life during the pandemic and beyond through the enjoyment of singing together. Mission to the Moon: School workshops

A series of school workshops aiming to build confidence through music. Each workshop has an accompanying animation taking the children through the story, engaging them on their mission. The full school project culminates with a performance of the song cycle.

Child, Year 5

It is good drama and the story is really interesting. The singing and songs bring the story to life.

Mission to the Moon: Summer school

Children will develop their musical skills, experience emotional expression through music and ultimately have fun singing and making music together; building their wellbeing and confidence.  At the end of the week, the children will showcase their new skills in a concert performance of the ‘Mission to the Moon‘ song cycle for parents, families and friends. It is an exciting week full of fun, laughter and musical wellbeing!

Rev Katy, August 2021

We were so excited as a community to be able to offer our children the chance to attend this course.

What I saw were children who may have been a bit tentative about coming on day one, really grow in confidence and love the whole experience. So much so that they couldn’t wait for the day to start and arrived earlier each day!

One parent was so impressed by the effect this course had on her own daughter that she stopped me in the street to thank me for putting it on.
This course has had such a positive effect for the children who attended that we hope to run it again next year.
