Our Team


 Tessa Armstrong, BMus (Hons), LCH Dip, Accredited Senior Coach IAPC&M

Founder and Executive Director

 Tessa is an award-winning senior career and confidence coach and author.  She has extensive experience of helping adults and young people in the private, public, education and charity sectors with a focus on self-esteem and confidence as well as providing a structured and pragmatic approach to the development of career paths and charity organisational structure.  Having begun her career as a solicitor and charity fundraiser, Tessa founded her own business providing coaching services nationally. She is  also a primary school governor.

With a degree in music and a trained Thrive Emotional Health Practitioner, Tessa has a passion for using her skills to positively impact the development and wellbeing of children through music and other artistic forms. She has designed the Voices for Life concepts. 

In September 2023, Tessa received the High Sheriff of Somerset award in recognition of great and valuable services to the community .

Sarah-Jane Hayward, FCCA


A qualified accountant for over twenty years, Sarah-Jane has a keen eye for detail, and is responsible for keeping our incoming and outgoing finances in order. In her spare time SJ enjoys gardening, cooking and travelling.

Kirsten Mulcahy

Cornwall Hive Project and Events Manager,  Workshop Leader

Originally from Cornwall, Kirsten is an experienced arts administrator with a project and event planning and schools outreach background. Alongside her roles with Voices for Life, she works for several arts organisations throughout the Southwest including Wiltshire Music Centre, Wiltshire Rural Music and Cornwall Youth Choirs.

With a degree in music, Kirsten is a classically trained soprano, performing regularly as a soloist. She is also a member of Noctis Chamber Choir. As well as leading the VFL Children’s Choir, Kirsten works as a Voices for Life workshop leaders on other projects.

Will Ashworth

Project Development, VFL Children’s Choir and Workshop Leader

Will is a musician based in Bath.  Primarily playing the piano, he accompanies many different choirs, teaches the piano and is the director of music at St. John the Baptist Church with St. Catherine, Batheaston.
