Young Composers

In 2023, Voices for Life launched their Create a Song project inviting young people to engage in songwriting. Children were invited to submit a tune to lyrics written by Sue Curtis.

From the many entries, two winners were selected – Ender Turgot-Onions and Phoebe Traquiers. As the standard was so high, two runners up wre also selected – Ella and Atia. Ender and Phoebe spent a day working with composer Jools Scott to refine their own tune into a full song with accompaniment. Their songs were then premiered in Bath Abbey in June 2023.
